“Taliama is a place and its an idea.”

— Steve Beshara

Welcome to taliama

A few years ago, when I acquired this land, I didn’t have a clear plan for it. If you’d have asked me what’s my vision for the place, I’d probably say that we will enjoy hiking the forest, cooking over open campfires, and hosting some friends in the raw beauty of the North Georgia mountains. We had plenty of ideas and options, but listening to the land was most important.

Today, we’ve started to scratch out some humble beginnings - two miles of hiking trails and a handful of meditation zones and fire pits at peaceful destinations sprinkled throughout the forest. We simply want to celebrate friends and nature. Both give us so much.

Now we’ve turned our sights toward inviting some adventurous souls to form a humble cabin community with us. A place where families can gather in the serenity of the forest and enjoy the special connection with fellow cabin neighbors.

Taliama will release entitled lots to invited friends who want to build a cabin getaway. Be our neighbor. Cook with us at the firepit. Enjoy an Adirondack chat with favorite beverage in hand. Relax. Deeply. And reconnect with yourself, your loved ones and the awesome abundance of nature.

If this sounds appealing to you, give me a shout. We’re grateful to our talented friends who have helped us map this out. We are taking the first few steps toward our conceptual master plan. And if you’ve spent any time with us in the woods, I think you will agree it’s a really good one.

Come join us and share in that cleansing feeling of nature and connection. Rejuvenate your spirit. — Steve Beshara

a vision for our well-being

Taliama was purchased to explore nature, design, food, and lifestyle and we are now ready to share what we find with our guests. We believe that creating a way of living that respects all forms of life is possible, and we think that connecting with our own inner nature and the natural world surrounding us is critical in this process. Taliama is our take on a model for a lifestyle more in sync with the natural rhythms. By engaging with us, you support this work, and hopefully, you get inspiration for ways to apply these ideas in your own daily life.

Taliama is more than a romantic getaway, group gathering venue or a very good dinner over the open fire in the forest. Come out and treat yourself and loved ones to fresh mountain air. If you are open to it, it’s an initiation and a glimpse into a life more in sync with nature that realizes the benefits of well-being. That’s the idea. A visit to Taliama rejuvenates your heart and soul.

What does Taliama mean?

Taliama is Cherokee for ‘two water’. The 30 acre property is pristine Appalachain forest graced by two creeks and two waterfalls. We interpret this development as an opportunity to partner with nature to realize the rewards and benefits of healthy hospitality for the betterment of us all. It is founded by Steve Beshara, an Atlanta-based entrepreneur who felt the call of the wild. Our guiding coalition love spending time in nature, love beautiful, simple things, and we love food cooked on the open fire!

  • Robin

    Certified Forest Therapy Guide

Robin Hancock became a Certified Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy in 2016. As a member of the 6th cohort trained through this organization, she is one of the first 50 guides certified globally, in a current network of more than 2,700 guides in 62 countries around the world.

As an outdoor enthusiast, Robin has always been aware of the benefits intrinsic to being in nature. While experiencing profound personal losses over the course of a few years, Robin naturally turned to the Forest for comfort and spiritual retreat. It was there that she discovered the wisdom that resides there, or rather within herself, as her spirit was quieted enough to listen. That was her gift from the Forest. As the owner of Renewal by Nature, Robin offers guided experiences to lead other towards that same type of wholeness.

  • Damian

    Grounds

Damian and his team have worked the land most every Saturday since 2019. Saturdays are work days where Steve joins with Damian’s men to carve out our little existence in the forest. After a full day of work, we celebrate with an open fire cookout (and a Modelo cold beer.)

Follow our journey.
