Join us for a Wellness walk

Our Wellness Walks are designed to foster deeper and healthier connections with nature, each other, and ourselves. They are fun, soulful, healthy, and inspiring. It combines a gentle hike through the forest, inspiring conversations about our well-being, delicious food and drink, all with the embrace of the forest and waterfalls.

In a way, we aspire to provide the greatest multi-vitamin you could take. The benefits of our Wellness Walks is to clear our minds, release our stress, encourage deeper states of mindfulness and lift our spirits, to name a few.

The Wellness Walk incorporates aspects of “forest bathing”, a Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, using a combination of the human senses to become fully and mindfully immersed in a natural setting. You are guided through a series of invitations that encourage mindfulness through our five senses, fully experiencing our natural surroundings.

This physical stroll, while relaxing, recharges us in ways that allows our inner peace and health to radiate beyond the Wellness Walk and positively impact our day-to-day experiences.

In addition to the psychological and emotional benefits, Wellness Walks have positive impact on the human physiology in the form of improved biometric measures and function. Many research studies have reported the powerful benefits of forest therapy including this Harvard study.

A Wellness Walk will often include these key elements:

  1. a brief conversation introducing “forest bathing” exercises to be casually used throughout the day (lasting approximately 10-15 minutes),

  2. a gentle, easy hike on trails throughout Taliama with episodic pauses and conversations at some of Taliama’s meditation zones (lasting approximately 120 - 180 minutes),

  3. a gathering with family style refreshment and food cooked on the open fire filled with conversation, connection and inspiration (lasting approximately 1 hour),

  4. (on occasion) a presentation or workshop conducted by a knowledgable expert (these last varying lengths of time depending on the subject). Examples: mushroom foraging, sound bathing, plein air sketching and painting, journaling, open fire cooking classes, and other interesting topics.
