Winter

The Winter Solstice on December 21st marks the official beginning of winter. For those of us coming to Taliama from Atlanta or regions south, the temperatures in Sautee Nacoochee are generally 5-10 degrees colder. As temperatures drop the opportunity for snow increases.

The forest has a certain stillness and peace during snowfall. A simple pleasure is to hike the waterfall trails followed by a hot beverage in front of the fireplace at the cabin. It’s hygge at it’s best.
